What has Kier Starmer Ever Done for Us?

I was watching Aaron Bastani/Novara Media's latest video above. Even though he is a Socialist, I like Aaron. He comes to the party without the batshit crazy socialism that infests the left at the moment. 

He went to Runcorn, to view how things are shaping up for the local election for their MP is shaping up.

For a Labour-Supporting Socialist, it wasn't good news. Labour was roundly criticised for for reneging on promises made before the election and cutting the Winter Fuel allowance. I guess it was hard to listen to, but not entirely unexpected. 

A further problem is what has Labour done for Runcorn, both locally and Nationally? How has Labour improved the lives of Runcorn residents. Locally nothing, as Aaron toured areas with boarded up shops and a run-down shopping centre. You'd think that the local Labour controlled council would be able to manage the environment around them. Like many local councils in the North West, Halton Borough Council overseeing Runcorn demands very much in council tax, but delivers very little in return.

Runcorn is a staunch Labour seat, the 16th most secure Labour seat in the country out of 640. It's pretty much voted Labour for decades. But now, the race is very close, with some saying that the Reform party could swing a win. You'd think that would be an immense shock to the Labour machine, but I don't think it would be.

In Aaron's interviews, there were a couple of staunch Labour supporters, that even given the missteps of the past 12 months and the prior lies used to get in power, they still thought that Labour were doing a good job, just not communicating the good work they were doing effectively enough. Hmm, that's a stretch: I can't for the life of me think of anything positive the Labour party have done in the nearly 12 months in power.

That's despite cutting the winter fuel allowance, enanthema to Labour supporters prior to last year's election. That's despite Labour claiming the working class of Southport are all Far-Right and putting them in jail for retweets and X posts. The working class that Labour were formed to champion. That's despite the Labour party aiming to reduce thew welfare bill.

Also don't forget that Runcorn is 30-ish miles away from the Muslim Rape Gangs of Greater Manchester and Southport, where the little girls were killed (and the natives went apeshit about it and were called far right by Starmer). Immigration is a big issue in the North West.

The notes in the Aaron Bastani interview were ones of a Labour party that no longer supports the working class, a Labour Party that lied to get into power, a Labour party that wants to reduce the welfare state. Exactly what the Tories traditionally aim for. The final point being that there isn't any point in the working class voting for Labour or Tory, so why not vote Reform, to shake things up a bit and make people take notice. Every time Starmer opens his mouth, it's not to support the working class, it's to suppress them. It's not to prioritise their needs in the face of oppressive capitalists, instead it prioritises immigrants over the indigenous. 

I think Aaron's interviews sum up the state of UK politics and the Labour party in particular succinctly.

The Labour party have been a net negative for the UK, their message is a huge ball of negativity too. Big black holes, there's absolutely nothing we can do, it's all the Tory's fault, if you disagree with me you are far right, if you complain you will go to prison.

Right now the Labour approval rating has fallen off the ship, has sunk to the bottom of the Marianas Trench and is still down there digging a deeper hole. It can't be worse.

Reform can only gain massive support. Rishi Sunak's Tory party and Kier Starmer's Labour party have both conspired to ablate confidence in the political status quo of the UK. 

People are ready for real change. They will vote for Reform, because they have no other choice. No one is listening, no one is positively making a difference. It's the same-old-same-old.

The migrant issue may not be the cause, but successive government's lack of action and failure to get a grip of the immigrant issue has made it a singular hill that the two-party system will die on. 

You have to ask why? Why have successive governments failed to act. Why have they failed to take the actions necessary to stop the dinghies or allow the removal of illegal immigrants?

If removal of the UK from the ECHR is necessary, why has it not been done? If UK legislation is the issue, why has it not been changed? 

You also have to ask: What has Kier Starmer, or the Labour Party done for the UK in their 12 months of tenure? 

Labour Party: Circling the Drain.

 It seems a new batch of infighting has broken out ion the Labour party, with a new push by the loony left to oust Kier Starmer.

I know I hate the bloke and all he stands for, but he is a sort of gatekeeper against the far left loonies in the party. 

Sadly I think this time, he will not prevail.

This could well be the end for the Labour party. We really need a party of and for the working class that has sensible, credible, workable, reasonable policies that people will vote for. 

The Liberals cast themselves adrift and set sail for the far left sunset years ago, with their objection against the Brexit majority.

It seems the Labour party are loading up the ship with supplies to follow the same route.

As a party they have not grasped that to get into power, you first have to have policies that appeal to the majority. Having fashionable virtue-signalling but ultimately unworkable and unpopular policies will just consign them to the political wastelands.

Kier Starmer's "Cervix-Gate" incident at the weekend just sums up how out of touch the Far Left are. Only a woman has fucking Cervix you prick Starmer. Say it, it's Scientific Fact. A bloke that gets an op is not a Woman in the scientific sense. If a bloke has the op and has the appearance of a woman, then by all means he can be afforded the title of woman in a honorific way, but he still isn't a woman in the scientific sense.

Ta-Ta Labour, you gave us some laughs along the way, but your time is up....

 Yes, Angela Rayner, the MP for my old home town and her calling the Tories "Scum". Exactly the rabid, partisan rhetoric that put me off Labour when I lived up there. This type of Labour member are literally lunatics, there is a group madness amongst them that make them vehemently oppose anyone that doesn't agree with their viewpoint.

I'd had enough of them back in the Michael Foot era. 

To be honest, the Labour party are scum for not providing a credible opposition to the Tories and letting them romp away with the election and giving them a huge majority. 

Had Labour been a bit more moderate, they might have taken more seats and been able to provide an opposition. But Labour is rife with people that are so thick, so blinkered, so vitriolic , so out of touch and so far to the left that no-one will vote for them.

A classic example of this was the Kier Starmer interview yesterday when he was asked if the phrase "Only women have a Cervix" is transphobic. Here's a hint Kier: It's not. It's actually a statement of scientific fact.

But hey, let's not let science get in the way of ideology eh?

This is the sort of Leftist Lunacy that is losing Labour votes. Supporting the misogynistic take-over of the female space by the male-to-female trans lobby is wrong-headed. But that's Luney Labour for you. 

Consider this for a second: Starmer can't say that only females have Cervixes. What else is he hamstrung by ideology over?

Would he oppose China? Would he sever our relationship with the USA, would he take us out of NATO? With nutters like these in the party, absolutely anything is possible and it's no wonder no-one will vote for them.  

Nobody wants a rabid dog.

 

Trevor Phillips Expelled from Labour for Racism. Selective Racism, that is.

So Trevor Phillips, the person so trusted by the Blair Labour government to be in charge of the Equality Act, has been expelled for racism.

Did he, like many other Labour supporters call out the Jews? Nope.

Did he like many Black Labour supporters call out White People? Nope.

Did he like other Labour members denigrate the working class? Nope.

So what did he do then?

He called for more investigation into the Muslim grooming gang phenomenon. He asked for an investigation into the motivations of the majority Pakistani Muslim men. Why would a bunch of men from a limited section of  the Muslim community feel they could do this. Why is the phenomenon of Muslim grooming gangs repeated across the country?  Why is the rest of the Muslim community turning a blind eye to the issue? Why are these men not being reported to Police by other Muslims?

And for that he was labelled a Racist and expelled from the Labour Party.

Corbyn Shows his true Allegances at PMQs.

After the Labour party's heaviest defeat in a general election since 1935, what does Jeremy Corbyn do at the latest Prime Minister's Question Time?

Ask for assurance we won't kick the crap out of Iran. Not just one of the three questions he's allowed, but ALL three questions were used up trying to get assurances out of Boris Johnson that we won't do anything to hurt Jeremy's mates in Iran.

NOTE: NOTHING AT ALL REGARDING THE POOR OR THE WORKING CLASS IN THE UK.

Of all the questions he could have asked:

What is the government doing to eradicate zero hours contracts?

Will the Government pledge to take those on minimum wage out of taxation?

What is the government doing to reduce the step from benefits to working, to help those out of work into work?

What is the government doing for those in the "Red Wall" that gave their vote to the Conservatives?

What is the government doing to streamline the transition to the new benefits system?

How is the government helping those wrongly denied benefits by the new system?

Nope, nothing like that. Instead Jeremy Corbyn is pre-occupied attempting to protect what is in effect and Islamic dictatorship in a country thousands of miles away.

THAT's where Jeremy Corbyn's loyalties lie on the 8th of January 2020.

In that is why Labour have lost so badly and will continue to lose general elections in the future.

Until they learn to support the working class and work to improve the plight of those working on low wages and not just those on benefits, until the Labour party step up and start to love the UK, they will continue to lose. I hope.

Denial of the Labour Kind. Chapter 3. Descent into Madness and Delusion.

Okay, this should be the absolute final chapter but I suspect the results of the Labour leadership election will provide at least one more chapter on the Labour party's reaction to losing the election.

Today I'm talking about delusion. Dangerous delusion.

Already Labour supporters on the far-left are having discussions on whether the "idiots" who voted Tory should be allowed to vote.

"Allowed" to vote?? Do they not understand the concept of one person, one vote? Do they not understand the fights and struggles common men and women had through history to attain that outcome?

It seems the far-left consider voting (as with many more of their "considerations) something that can be changed to suit them. Only allow those with the right way of thinking the ability to vote. Give it to foreigners and new immigrants instead. In fact only give the right to vote to people who will vote the "correct" way.

Totalitarianism, in fact: For the party, of the party, Nothing against the party.

It's this delusional group-thinking, this mass hysteria that drags countries down into the depths of Madness. It's the mass hysteria that pulled Germany into Nazism, it's the sort of group-thinking that enabled the purges in Stalinist Russia, it's the thinking that facilitated the millions killed by Mao, the killing fields of Pol-Pot.

That is where the far-left are at the moment. In a state of madness. The state of madness that denies reality.

The mindset that says they won the argument but lost the election.

The mindset that says there are more than two genders.

The mindset that says that genders are in fact a social construct.

The mindset that wants to facilitate mass immigration and doesn't think there will be consequences.

The mindset that wants to remove the right to vote from those with wrong-think.

The mindset that says you can work less for more money without increasing productivity.

Time and time again, I see on twitter these people, these dangerous people talk and my mind boggles. You cannot debate these people. They refuse to discuss alternative viewpoints.

They are in fact, mentally ill, locked in some form of mass hysteria, wishing for a better place and see
that force coercion, bullying and denying rights are a means to gain that goal. Whilst campaigning against coercion and bullying.

The latest is the delusional arch-remain-losing-denier, the king of black-is-white refusal to accept reality Keir Stamer is the lead contender for leader of the Labour party.

Despite him being the arch remainer in the cabinet, the guy that most wanted to go against the democratic will to leave the EU, the guy that almost certainly cost Labour thousands of seats and undoubtedly the guy the Northern "Red Wall" would least vote for.

He's in Prime position for Labour leadership and another decade of Labour political irrelevance.

Despite Labour's protestations for more equality, no female in the lead role than I see.

No Northern candidate in the running. More Islington/Chelsea middle-class-Marxists.

Denial of the Labour Kind. Chapter 4. A Case Study.

Labour MP Claudia Webbe was asked the question "In what way was the Labour Manifesto Popular when you went down to your worst defeat in decades?"

True to type, she started to revert to spouting rhetoric, rather then answer the question. When (with some difficulty) pressed further, she then started to rant about the media, Brexit and anything else she could use to blame on Labour's failure. Rather than the Labour party leadership and by extension their policies and manifesto.

Yes, it's a laudible aim to house the homeless, it's a laudible aim to take in genuine refugees, and all the rest of it.

But only in the Leftist Labour Twitter bubble does rhetoric win elections.

Policies need to be credible, costed and above all they need to be rooted in reality.

Labour's manifesto was all rhetoric and nowhere was there an accurate description of how it would be paid for. Stealing companies and putting them back into public ownership is not a credible policy.

Nor is the open borders policy. Not without a massive surplus of cash in the exchequer to cover the cost.

Nor is a plan to build millions of houses without the money or permission to build. Unless the green fields of the home counties are to be replaced by shoddily-built Soviet-style concrete apartment blocks.

Claudia Webbe's appearance, her lack of engagement, her inability to listen and instead spout rhetoric rather than answer a direct question, is the epitome of why Labour lost.

They are doing too much talking an no listening. They are plucking policies from thin air that their Twitter bubble likes, but everyone else can see would bankrupt the country.

It's frightening that a constituency would elect an MP like this to Parliament. At the very least after the biggest party defeat in 70 years or more the least you'd want is your MP to be reflective, humble, understanding, able to listen and accept change.  Not to be dogmatic, blame everyone including voters for the losses. That's a bold strategy to win votes right there.... and yes, I'm being sarcastic.

Denial of the Labour Kind. Chapter 3. Labour Party Reflection and Reform?

Reform? HaHaHa, don't make me laugh. It's not Labour's fault they lost the election, it's everyone else's.

Certainly not the Labour leadership (according to the Labour leadership that is).

It's interesting to read from reports that Labour candidates were given support from the party apparatus based not on the marginality of their seats or just a plain need for some promotion in the face of withering voter support, but instead based on their ideological purity. That's the sort of Labour party we have at the moment. A microcosm of Socialist dictatorship, with un-personing and removal from the benefits of the party for not toeing the exact party line.

In essence the Labour party would rather cast off those MPs that don't toe the ideological line than support them and win an election.

Such is the slavish adherence to Socialist doctrine in the higher ranks of the Labour party. Yes folks, it's actually worse than we thought.

Comrade Corbyn and his acolytes would even un-person their own Party members just on the basis they don't toe the extreme socialist ideology of the Momentum movement.

Just think what that sort of government would be like if they got into power? Yeah, we dodged a bullet there, that's for sure.

I'm quite sure that within the life of a Corbyn government, given a decent majority in Parliament we would have gone from democratic choice to little red books, boiler suits and socialist dictatorship. With Corbyn the "dear leader" installed in power in perpetuity.

Think it's preposterous? Think again.

Of course now that the Labour party lost so badly, you'd think that there would be a want, a desire to move away from the rabid Socialist doctrine that lost them the election.

Sorry, don't make me laugh again.

No, they will double down with the rhetoric. Those not ideologically pure in the party will be purged and Labour will slip further into a Socialist swamp. The pressure in Labour at the moment is not to blame the leadership, but the poor thick fools in the country that didn't envision the sunny socialist uplands that awaited them under the beneficent dear leader.

IF Corbyn does trigger a leadership contest, I suspect the replacement(s) for him and/or John McDonnell will be cast from the same extremist socialist mould. I say If, mainly because I think that Corbyn will be persuaded to stand in any leadership contest or his bully-boy momentum mates will force it to happen. It could just be that Corbyn and McDonnell get re-elected by the extremists and Labour continue as normal. Such is the way with extreme Socialists.

I predict within 5 years the moderate Labour MPs and party members will have moved away and formed a more moderate party. This is like the early Eighties all over again, with Michael Foot's Labour party sparking the formation of the SDP.  Last time, the Labour party moderates clawed the party back from the extremists under John Smith. This time the Momentum bully boys won't be removed from the party quite so easily.

The one certain fact of this, is there is no party that truly reflects the working class in this country. Labour are not that party.

Denial of the Labour Kind. Chapter 2. Labour's 2019 Election and future

Okay, so in my previous blog I pointed out the decades where Labour either ignored the lot of the working class, or just plain ignored them and sided with the big corporations (as during the Blair/Brown years).

"By ye deeds shall ye be known" is exactly how Labour failed. They in effect lied: saying they would respect the referendum result, but effectively campaigned for remain by blocking the Conservative's Brexit plan even when the Irish backstop had been removed by Boris Johnson's team. Voters are very canny and you can't lie to them for three years without being found out. The mixed messages from Labour MPs just convinced the voters Labour couldn't be trusted. There were times when two Labour MPs on two different TV channels were saying exactly opposite things. Nor are the people happy when political parties block legislation they ask for just for political purposes.

The voters are not fools. By Labour not ruling out remain, the voter knew that remain was the real focus and the pseudo-Leave viewpoint was just a smokescreen to try and con Labour leave voters into voting for them. The working class Labour leave voter had been conned during the 2017 election. They wouldn't be conned again.

That's effectively where Labour stood: diametrically opposed to their Northern Labour heartlands.

No amount of freebies promised by Labour would have changed that. The people know that someone has to pay for the freebies. Whether it's in the form of higher taxes or their children paying off the national debt in the future, the people are wise to false promises. The WORKING class, the poor that work and pay taxes are the ones that always get hit worst by Labour's schemes.

And they paid the price. Labour lost 50 seats and handed the Conservatives won a landslide majority.

Labour seats that had always voted Labour, switched to the Tories, such was the depth of feeling. Labour-voting wards that the party had taken for granted for two long, had been ignored by Labour for too long, voted Tory.

Quite clearly the policies included in the Labour manifesto were seen as a threat to the living standards of the working class.

How did the Labour leadership respond to this major defeat? Denial.

Really? At first glance you'd have to think "how could the Labour leadership be so thick?", but the Socialists do have a habit of denying reality.

Yes, Brexit was a festering sore that needed lancing in the Labour heartlands. But also spunking trillions on freebies for those out of work paid for by the working poor, or saying you'd pay for it by taxing corporations whilst conversely saying you'd vote remain so they can offshore tax to Luxembourg, is just ludicrous.

Corbyn laughingly came out with a speech that said they needed a period of reflection. Which I take to signal he's not going anywhere soon and takes no responsibility for the crushing defeat.

Immediately after the general election, Labour leaders were also saying it was Brexit that had caused the problem and not their policies or the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn.

It's even been said that some Labour MPs have called their constituents thick for voting Conservative.
Way to go guys, blame the people you ignored for decades for giving you an electoral slap.

No, you need to start supporting the working classes whose votes you rely on and you have been consistently ignoring for decades.

The working poor understand that unfettered unskilled depresses their wages and also increases competition for job places. That's why they voted to leave the EU. They want immigration limited to people with skills we need. No more cheap labour for the big corporations: lets start improving wages and living standards for the working class.

They don't want (as Labour voted to in this year's party conference) to give illegal or undocumented immigrants the automatic right to settle.

They also don't want those immigrants to have automatic access to welfare, the welfare that the working poor pay for in taxation.

They don't want immigrants to have automatic access to education and housing and all the other things that taxation pays for. The working poor are burdened with enough tax, they don't like other people that haven't paid to get things for free.

They also don't want anyone in the world to have access to the NHS they pay for.

The working class believe in fairness and equality. They saw that Labour's 2019 manifesto was unfair, unjust and unequal.

Despite the delusions of the Labour leadership, the working class rejected their manifesto wholeheartedly. They are not put on this earth to slave away for the rich for a pittance, neither are they put on this earth to pay for everyone else in the world to get free education, housing and health care. They want their country to be fairer, more just and more equitable.

Deliver that  Labour, and the working class will vote for you without hesitation.

What of the Labour leadership that brought them to such catastrophe? I predict nothing will change.

Not the policy, nor the leadership. I predict Jeremy Corbyn and his supporters along with bouncer McDonnell will strive to stay at the helm. The cult of Corbyn and the Momentum acolytes will see to that.

After all it wasn't the dear leader's fault they lost, it was the media, the J*ws, Twitter, YouTube political bloggers, the weather and a vast number of other excuses including the thick, gullible Northern voters.

No, no, no, it wasn't dear leader Corbyn's fault. He is sainted and above reproach. If only the voters would listen to him....

Beware False Brexit Idols...

It seems Labour are shit scared of the Leave-voting (previous) Labour supporters switching to the Brexit party, so they are now making more definite noises about Brexit policy and what Labour would do.

Let's be clear: a vote for Labour is a vote to remain. Just like a Lib-Dem vote. Maybe Labour aren't as clear on the subject, but let ME be clear:

Labour haven't taken Remain off the table, so it remains a viable option in any future referendum. Also, if they get into power, would negotiate a new, supposedly better deal and then the majority of Labour MPs would campaign during a second referendum campaign against the deal that they themselves negotiated, because they feel the UK would be better within the EU. As nonsensical as that seems.

What Labour's policy is, is a back-door attempt to remain.

The Lib-Dems, are quite clear that they would revoke article 50 without a referendum, instead relying on the mandate of the general election win to reverse the referendum result of 2016.

Labour instead would have a people's vote or second referendum, with options to remain and any number of leave options. Thereby splitting the leave vote and artificially generating a remain result.

Instead what we should be hearing from ANY party offering a second referendum is to offer a referendum on leave only. The LEAVE/REMAIN issue was settled in 2016: we voted to leave.

So now the issue should progress and move on: we voted leave, so what leave option do we prefer?  Do we like any deal that the government negotiates with the EU, or do we reject the deal and go for a clean break and sever ties with Europe immediately?

Instead of taking no-deal off the table, MPs should have taken remain off the table. The fact that all the actions of MPs over the past 3 years was exactly the opposite, tells you volumes on where the majority of Previous MPs stood. They all want to be tied to Europe and will negotiate the worst deal in order to make being in Europe appear better than being outside.

The Insanity of the Authoritarian Left (One of God only knows how many examples)

Apparently they want to create the crime of "Ecocide" and ban eating meat, like they banned smoking.

Jeremy Corbyn: Crisis of Confidence and Leadership.

It seems with every day that Jeremy Corbyn and those at the top of the Labour Party fail to get a grip of the Anti-Semetism issue, is another day that the Tories are let off scott free regarding Brexit.

Just like Brexit is consuming the Tory party to the exclusion of poverty, homelessness, crime and all the other important facets of government, the Anti-Semetism crisis on the opposition benches is preventing Labour from calling the government to task on those failures.

The fissures, fractures and failures in the Tory party right now should a mountain of material to kick into the open goal available, but at each PMQs we get bumbling Mr Bean presenting failure after failure to deliver a coup-de-grace, kicking wide of the very open goal week after week.

And that's it: we see him most Wednesdays failing the non-Tories of the country and then he disappears like a hermit, never to be seen or heard unil the next Wednesday. Not the sign of a leader. He should be up there, in the public eye on a daily basis thumping lecterns and desks and speaking about the injustices regarding the poor. Instead it seems he's more likely to stay at home and drink free trade cocoa with his plaid slippers on.

When he does rise from his cocoa-induced slumbers, it seems he's intent on giving his enemies ammunition by aligning with terrorist organisations, attending far-left rallies and not denouncing anti-semitic outbursts..

Jeremy Corbyn is doing the poor and needy of this country a disservice by staying in office if he can't put this to bed. Or to put is another way, if he can't put it to bed quickly, he is not the person to lead the Labour Party.

By bumbling along and letting things continue, by pushing it out to committees and endless investigations, he is allowing others outside Labout to disrepute the party.

Investigations need to be thorough, swift and decisive.  Failure on either count looks like dithering, prevarocation and right now looks like tacit approval of the anti-semitic sentiment in Labour.

The Labour party needs a leader that can lead. Maybe Corbyn has been on the back benches for too long and is used to just leaving it to everyone else to run the shop. But that can't happen... he's the bloody leader of the party!

It's gone on for so long, the party are calling themselves into disrepute.

Their failure to crack on and fight on behalf of the poor and the impoverished and the dispossessed shows thay have taken the wrong route in politics.

Labour Party's Betrayal of Northern Labour Voters.

In the Brexit referendum, scores of Labour-voting people in Labour's Northern Heartlands voted to leave the EU.

Northumberland, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Lancashire.... all voted to leave the EU. All are counties where Labour do well. Former industrial and mining areas.

All betrayed yesterday by Jeremy Corbyn and his policy to stay in the customs union. Pandering to his London-centric Remain Champagne Socialist Labour clique.

Labour will say that even though their heartlands voted leave, it wasn't the Labour voters (the majority) that did that, it was the nasty Tories (the minority) that somehow conjoured a referendum winning vote. So they're actually giving Labour voters what they want. They can believe that Bullshit all they want to excuse their trachery, but it just doesn't wash. Gordon Brown got it wrong when he called Gillian Duffy a bigot for her comments on immigrants. Jeremy Corbyn has just done exactly the same.

This should be as momentous for Labour voters as Maggie Thatcher crushing the miner's strike: this is Labour sticking two fingers up to the working class. Again. And this time you can't say it's Teflon Tony Blair the Tory in disguise, or Gordon Brown trying to be Tony Mk2. This is jeremy Corbyn, self-styled Trotskyite, man of the oppressed workers of the UK. This is inexcusable.

Of course the Chelsea Socialists say it's all about protecting worker's rights. It's nothing of the sort. It's protecting corporate interests and the influx of cheap unskilled Polish and Romanian workers. It's about keeping wages suppressed. With all that cheap labour on tap, wages for the rest of us stay low and working conditions poor. It's keeping profits flowing to low-tax countries with no penalties and avoiding paying tax in the UK.

After all, if we start to mention improvement of wages or working conditions, then all the business can just let us go and employ a foreign worker on high agency rates but getting paid minimum wage.  Huge margins for the corporate fat-cats. That's who your Labour party is actually working for.

If Labour truly wanted to improve the wages and working conditions of the working class of the UK, then the cheap labour tap would be turned off.  Out of the customs union and out of free movement.

Staying in "a", "the" or even "New" or any fucking flavour of  customs union automatically means free movement of people  i.e. no control over immigration. The EU provides no alternative on this. you cannot have one without the other. The tap cannot be turned off.

Staying in a customs union also means adherence to EU-negotiated trade deals. The UK would not be free to negfotiate on our own. Non-negotiable according to EU negotiators.

Membership of "a" customs union for anything longer than an interim period is a betrayal of those votes how voted to leave the EU. Permanent membership of a customs union goes against the will of the majority of people who voted to leave the EU and it's control.

Unless.... what Labour are saying they are aligning with Boris Johnson and his "have our cake and eat it" policy, where we choose to be part of a customs union, but are free to negotiate our own trade deals, part of a customs union and free of the ECJ, part of a customs union and not allowing free movement of people. ALL OF WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN REJECTED BY EU NEGOTIATORS.

You cannot have membership of "a" or "the" or any customs union without the baggage that comes along with it like subservience of UK laws to the Court of European Justice.

You cannot have membership of "a" or "the" or any customs union and stop the influx of cheap unskilled Eastern European labour.

You cannot have membership of "a" or "the" or any customs union and stop huge corporations from banking profits and declaring corporation tax in other countries. Free movement of people and goods also means free movement of money as well.

You cannot have membership of "a" or "the" or any customs union and negotiate trade with other countries at the same time. You are tied to deals done by the EU.

You cannot have membership of "a" or "the" or any customs union without betraying the huge swath of Northern Voters that voted to leave.

The sad thing is that now UKIP have crashed out of UK politics in any meaningful way, there is no alternative party for the Northern working class Labour voter to vote for. That's why Labour have done this now. They know the working class have no alternative to vote for. Bastards.

If ever there was a time for a proper democratic people's party, for the working class and  free from the Westminster bubble and it's corrupt corporate influence, that time is now.

Can we just grow up and accept that Brexit means leaving the EU, the Customs Union, the Single Market, the primacy of UK courts, closure of our borders, the ability to trade freely with other countries and start to talk on those terms. The longer Politicians of all flavours push the customs union model, the bigger the crash at the end of it when the EU refuse our requests.

Spinning otherwise (because that's all it is, spin) is dangerous and devisive. Right now businesses should be planning all future trade with EU countries on a "fully out" model. To do otherwise would court disaster for the company. That's what good governance is all about and should be working towards.

The game politicians are playing is a dangerous one and costly for the UK. That our own politicians are working against us should also prove the need for an alternative party that puts the UK people first. After all there is a historical precedent: every now and then Parliament has needed a nudge from the people to show 'em who's boss.

Labour Commit Political Suicide.

Last night the vast majority of Labour MPs voted against the European Union (Withdrawl) Bill, in direct conflict with the wishes of the majority of the population (who voted to leave the EU), in direct conflict with the Majority of Northern normally Labour-supporting voters who also voted to leave the EU and in direct conflict with the actual process of leaving the EU.

Had they one iota of gumption about them they would have realised that the powers they were complaining about were actually conferred on the unelected EU, exactly the issue that prompted voters (myself included) to vote to leave the EU.

At least the bill confers powers onto elected officials we can vote out of office, rather than the unelected beaurocrats of Brussels.

Where were the majority of Labour MPs when Tony Blair promoted the European Constitution? Where were they when Gordon Brown signed the Lisbon Treaty? Lining up to applaud, exactly in polar opposition to their sentiments last night.

It seems the Labour will do away with the will of the people just for the sake of damaging their opponents.

It seems the Labour Party will vote against the will of the people in order to fight their internal squabbles.

It is clear the Labour party will vote against the will of their own supporters in order to further both of the above.

Above all it is clear that the leaders of the labour party would rather destroy the party itself than do what their voters demand of them.

Anyone who votes Labour any any further elections, with the current leadership in place should very seriously reconsider their vote. The Labour party does not support the will of the people, they do not suport democracy and only those MPs that voted to support movement towards Brexit should be supported by labour voters at the next election.

It's time the Chealsea socialists, the posh-Trots and the loony left of Liverpool get a bloody nose and some bloody sense knocked into the party that supposedly supports the workers of this country.

I would hope that the huge Labour vote against the Brexit Bill last night signals the death of the party of Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Ed Milliband and Jeremy Corbyn. All of those Labour leaders who to a man have not put the faithful Labour voter first.

Labour Party: the one-message party.

Now we have an election looming, I see that the same old mantras are being pushed by them.

1. The NHS is doomed under the Tories. Vote Labour, get a better NHS.

Not that it ever was better under the previous Labour government, the government that saddled the NHS with expensive Private Partnership deals. Words are not the same as deeds.

2. Labour is the party of the people.

Well, not for a long time. You see in the Labour heartlands, seats are so safe that MPs stay in power for a long time and let's say, get used to the trappings of Parliamentary privilege. The long-term Labour MPs are no better than Tories. Dining at expensive restaurants, being taxied here and there, getting houses funded by the taxpayer... Nice when you can get it, especially when the wages of us poor saps out in the real world are tanking.

The same goes for the bosses at the top of the Unions: free penthouse apartments, funded by the Union members, the same posh restaurants as the Tory and Labour MPs. It makes you sick that they would abuse their privilege this way.

Don't forget that Labour, despite being "The Party of the People" has been in bed with big business for a long time. Just look at how under the previous Labour mob the supply of income for workers transferred from companies to the taxpayer. Yes, I'm talking about in-work benefits, especially tax credits.

It's a great idea when you put it as a way of topping up already poor wages. Not bad, people on low wages with kids get their wages topped up by the government. This would be fine, if corporation tax was raised to pay for it, so that the companies that pay sub-standard wages in effect get fined for doing it. Instead it's paid for by you and me, the ordinary taxpayer. In effect robbing Peter to pay Paul. Those that qualify for tax credits are better off, but the rest of the taxpaying community who don't qualify are effectively worse off because our taxes are higher to pay for it.

The same goes for zero hours contracts and the minimum wage. First off, I can't understand why people on the minimum/living wage should pay tax. And I especially can't understand why someone on the minimum wage should then have their wages topped back up by tax credits. In effect they pay tax, only to have the government give it back to them.

The downside is that the administration of that process needs paying for. So instead of taking them directly out of taxation, a system which is already administered, they pay tax, administered by one team and then apply for a rebate with another team of people and then given that money back. Crazy.

The other downside is the gap between benefits and wages is huge. Getting a tax-free salary equates more closely to benefits, reduces the gap and makes working a better option.

To me it smacks of a Tony Blair job creation scheme, paying people to shuffle paper around. Usually farmed out to somewhere like Wales or the North-East.

The inequality of zero hours contracts needs to be abolished as well. People should not be subject to informal hours arrangements. Again the government i.e. the taxpayer is paying to allow companies to get away with not having regular contracts. If companies want irregular employees on tap but exclusive to them and not able to work anywhere else, then they should pay a retainer to that employee when not employed, effectively paying the benefit the employee would get directly to them instead of the government.

So, what do I want Labour to start doing?

Well, stop banging on about the NHS. It's as boring as the "Safe, Stable Government" mantra chanted by the Tories.

Labour need to stop criticising and start inspiring.

Lift the poor (those on minimum wage) out of taxation, outlaw zero hours contracts, raise corporation tax on large businesses to pay for that and in-work benefits (and actually say that's what it's for, rather than just clobbering business), look to professionalise the social care sector, with a long-term plan to bring it into the NHS.

Legislation could be introduced to link the biggest rise in corporation tax to those companies that use zero hours contracts, or large numbers of minimum wage earners.

Legislation to curb the abuse of union funds needs to be introduced. Again, the marketing of the plan is key: It's helping the members to stop abuse, not bashing union bosses for the sake of it. Union bosses should pay for their accommodation out of their six-figure salaries, just like every other union member.  Highlighting the issue will put a spotlight on the abuse and should get the support of every union member.

Free local councils to start building houses. Forcing them to just build social housing will not generate new houses as it's just a cost to them. Allow them to build a small percentage for private sale so that they can make a profit, but with the caveat that any money raised has to be ringfenced and ploughed back into the housing fund.

Put a cap on public sector wages. Create legislation to cap the top wage to a certain number of times the lowest wage. It's obscene that the taxpayer should be paying large six-figure salaries to council members no matter how high up they are. Public service is a vocation. If you're so good at your job then go and find your way in the private sector. I find that many in the top jobs in public service are not of the standard to justify the huge salaries, they've just appointed themselves the salaries and justified it on the basis of that's what is needed to attract people from the private sector, when no-one from the private sector is actually employed.

I would apply the same cap on salaries for charities, especially those that receive government funding. There should be no members of charities earning over £200,000 salaries. Even £100,000 seems excessive when it can supply a very good standard of living. Charity donations should not be paying for a lavish upper-class lifestyle.

By these measures, Labour can say it is cleaning up the inequalities in employment and making the working environment more equitable for the lower paid. Lowering the wage gap for organisations that take from the public purse will give the feeling to the lower paid that they are not being exploited

Taking the lowest paid out of taxation will provide a boost in living standards and will equalise the gap between benefits and work.

Making companies pay for in-work benefits will shift payment for work away from the taxpayer and back onto business.

The very Ancient and Outmoded Labour Party (Part 2).

I was thinking and I think I've hit what it is about Labour that upsets me. It has failed to be aspirational. Sure, it aspires to be in power, but what after that? Nothing. Maybe it moves the deckchairs around a bit, but nothing truly inspirational. It's fiddling at the margins.

When I say aspirational, I mean for the working class it purports to respresent. What plans does it have to make the lot of the working class better?

A popular policy would be to outlaw zero hours contracts. The heinous things trap people by demanding exclusivity, but not rociprocating by providing a decent working week, every week.

In my mind, exclusivity means the company should pay the worker even though they are not working, because the company they are contracted to is preventing them from working for someone else.

If the company states you cannot work for anyone else, then they should be forced to pay a retainer to the employee. Of course minimum wage legislation means that the employee should be paid minimum wage even if they are not being used.

This is a very similar concept to the IR35 legislation that affected IT contractors.

Ok, a zero hours contract is a step up from employing people as self-emplyed contractors (e.g the so-called "Gig Economy") so the employer pays national insurance etc. but the exclusivity clause means that the employee should be paid for the time they are unable to work for anyone elase.

There should also be legislation aginst penalising people that cannot work at a certain time because they are working for someone else.

The legislation should make the agreement fair and equitable to both parties. At the moment the advantage is all towards the employer.

Another area Labour can help working people is social care. Wages in the social care sector are generally the lowest possible. A vast number of people are working for minimum wage despite having the qualifications and responsibility of administering medication and attending to the social welfare of their clients.

A move to professionalise the social care sector, maybe with union representation is sorely needed, it needs to be brought up to the same status as nursing. Having someone having access to and able to give medication including controlled drugs after a basic one day training course, or worse filling in a questionaire in my mind is just wrong. The discrepancy between social care and the medical profession is massive..

Workers in the care sector need to demonstrate a knowledge of social care and safety legislation. The basic care certificate introduced by CQC goes some way towards this, but more is needed.
More professionalism should improve wages for a sector with some of the poorest. That's what I mean by Labour being aspirational: introducing policies and legislation to improve the conditions of the poorest workers, the ones that are really being exploited.

Of course improved wages in the care sector then increases costs, but as I've previously mentioned, improved professional status will make it easier for the NHS then to take on social care and integrate it with the rest of the NHS, allowing patients in hospitals to be moved out of hospital wards.

A penny or two on income tax or national insurance to pay for the integration of social care budgets into the NHS budget wouldn't be baulked at by the majority of people. It would be a winning policy for Labour.

The very Ancient and Outmoded Labour Party.

It's a pity UKIP didn't win the Stoke by-election, with a defeat 2-0 the Labour party might have taken the hint and sacked their leader, Leicester FC-style.

Instead, with a score draw, the Tories can claim a historic result and Labour can carry on deluding themselves that things are fine and dandy, although the claim that Corbyn hasn't lost a by-election will have to be quietyly shelved. Not that it was much of a claim, the incumbent party almost never wins seats when in power.

The fact that the Labour party is really only relevant to students who have never lived a life, champagne socialists in London and militant socialists in Liverpool who have never grown up really, really upsets me. More than it should I know, but I still understand what the Labour party stood for way back when.

It stood up for the working man, it persuaded and didn't need thuggery to press it's point, because it was RELEVANT to the working man.

The working man could see the point of paying a small payment into a scheme so that we could have free health cover.

The working man could see that paying a small sub to a Union to protect him from overbearing employers.

But where is the relevance of the Labour party these days? Union leaders are seen hob-nobbing in posh restaurants with fat-cats, their leader really wants to do away with the Monarchy and wants a republic, he wants to do away with nuclear weapons, the very things that have kept the Russians from swallowing up the greater part of Europe. His policies are those of the trendy ultra-left, the sort of people who are miles away from the labourers, miners, steel workers, engineers and other blue-collar workers that made it.

They bicker and whinge about nit-picky irrelevances, like rights for every minority group going, including those that would deny them those very rights if they ever got in power.

Where is the working man or woman in all if this leftist irrelevance??

Nowhere. The left refuses to discuss substantive issues and place themselves in an electable position. For instance on the NHS they brook no discussion on how the NHS works, they would rather just shovel more and more cash into the black hole and naively hope more service comes out the other end.

The same mantra is pushed by the left regarding local services provided by councils.

Forget the fat cat bosses at the top earning six-figure salaries, forget the waste and the corruption, forget the lack of vocational nursing places, stopping working class girls getting a decent earning job.

Labour is now a party run largely by ultra-left socialist nutjobs that have absolutely no connection or empathy with the working man and would probably call working people fascists for daring even to earn money.

It just makes me sad that Labour is where it is, irrelevant to most of the people it originally set out to champion.

It makes me even sadder that the people Labour have cast aside still vote for them.
