Levels of illegal immigration are at an all-time high. The operations in the channel and the thousands of hotel rooms being block-booked to house the now hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants is becoming an untenable state of affairs.
The government seem unable to come up with a plan to stem the flow. At some point it has to stop as we are looking at the population of a large town arriving every year.
We are not building a new town's work of facilities every year. We simply don't have the money.
Sorry to say, but the problem of immigration has now become untenable on several fronts. Financial, political, societal.
I do feel that we are close to a tipping point. Either the Government ship the immigrants off to Rwanda, fighting lawyers all the way for each and every person picked to be shipped off, or as I suspect will happen, the government will cave in and start to issue amnesties and process the immigrants to live here.
Then the traffickers will have won and there will be no stopping the flow into the country.
Right now, the government needs to make a choice. Do they grow some balls and do what is necessary to stop the flow, including removing the country from the ECHR, or do they cave in and allow the whole world unrestricted access to the UK?
Because if they issue amnesties, that's what will happen.
