Here We Go: Work Until You Die: The Return of The Serf.

It seems moves are afoot to yet again raise the retirement age. The likes of myself, only 8 years away from retirement at 67, may never actually get to retirement as the rumour is the age is going to now be raised to 68. For people born later, the government seems to be looking at raising the age past 70.

Now, given the average age of death or life expectancy is currently 82, that doesn't give people a particularly long retirement. 

Some may argue that some people live well into their Nineties, but they are a minority. By 75, if you're not already worked to death then you can look forward to a 7 year retirement,

Whoopie Fucking Do.

People really need top start looking at successive governments and political parties and wake up to the realisation that they do not work for us, the people. Pressure always needs to be applied and when that pressure is released, the governments slip back to type and revert to favouring their fat-cat buddies in business.

My solution? Easy. Hit the companies that offshore their corporation tax liabilities with double or treble Employer's national Insurance. Because they HAVE to pay employer's national insurance, they cannot offshore that liability. Yes, I'm talking about the massive high-street killing tax evaders Google, Amazon, eBay, PayPal, et al.

If they want to earn billions and send it overseas, then sorry, we'll devise a strategy to claw that money back. For decades companies have avoided paying huge sums of tax and as a result the exchequer doesn't have the money to pay for pensions. 

They're not only sending money offshore, but they have also decimated the high street so we're losing out on the tax that would be paid here in the UK. 

So it's about time we started loading them with punitive measures to repay for the destruction they have caused to our national tax take. Well, here's a plan to get some of that money back.

The Poor? Is it worth them working? Can we Afford Climate Piety? Why Has Government Policy Left the Poor Behind?

 So finally we get the news that Energy prices will rise by 54%. 

This on top of rises in petrol prices. 

It's now becoming patently obvious that the rush to Climate Piety and the nonsense of "Zero Carbon Emissions" is becoming far too expensive for the poor of the UK.

It's now pretty obvious that the minimum wage can't be considered a living wage. It can't even be considered an existence wage because right now the minimum wage does not cover the cost of renting, heating and food, let alone the cost of transport to get to work. 

It may be that it would be better for these people to leave the job market and to go on welfare. At least then any rent will be paid by housing benefit and the unemployment benefit should cover food and heating bills. 

It's quite clear now that this country cannot afford the rush to zero carbon emissions. It's a folly, an impossibility only achieved because our emissions are now offshored to the likes of India and China. We are still creating emissions, just not locally.

It would be interesting to see if the Middle Classes would be happy supporting a class of people that cannot afford to work, or even if they could understand the concept. It's all well and good to say "Go out and get a job", but there comes a point where that job isn't viable, it's impossible to sustain the basics of living on the wages being offered.

This madness has to stop.

The government needs to come clean on their reckless energy policy, amongst other policies that leave the poorest in society unable to continue living.

Alongside the rise in National Insurance which will hit the poorest hardest, the NEST Pension Scheme that seems to be taking comparatively large sums out of minimal wages for apparently little gain come retirement.

There's even rumours that the pension age is going to be raised yet again to 70. So essentially there will be an element of society paying into NEST that will not see a penny back. Guess who has the shortest life expectancy?

Then there's the horrendous damage that has been done to the poor with successive government housing policy. We have a whole generation of young people unable to afford a mortgage. We have huge numbers of older people that cannot afford to rent even a one-bedroom flat on a single wage.

At what point do the public keep voting for these people? It's not like Labour are any better. Labour seem to have cast the poor working class aside in favour of immigrants and those on benefits.

But we really need to understand that to get everyone in work, work needs to provide a LIVING wage. Not a subsistence wage, not a wage topped up by in-work benefits for the fortunate few.

Current and previous Government policies have done immeasurable harm to the poorest in society. It's no wonder they are becoming feral and don't give a shit. When people have nothing to lose, that's what happens. When it's easier to be in prison than on benefits, then don't be surprised when the crime rate starts to soar. 

Governments eventually reap what they sow. And I hope the whirlwind comes soon.

Highway Code Goes Woke.

The New, Woke Highway Code regulations have now come into force.

I say woke, because for the first time the highway Code introduces a hierarchy of road users. Rather than all road users being equal and driving with due consideration for each other (the Grown up, Gentlemanly and British way to do things) now we are told that pedestrians and cyclists are victims and oppressed and require progressive rules to provide equality.

Another push towards equality of outcome by forcing the issue rather than assuming everyone has equal rights to road use and to behave accordingly.

You know as with other woke Marxist ideological interference it will end in chaos as everyone argues their victimhood status over other road users and infringement of their rights.
