Government Idiocy Makes Electricity Blackouts a Certainty in the next 12 months.

This is a prime example of the idiocy, general lack of intelligence and dogmatic ideology in the UK government.

The government is committed to Net Zero and has reduced the production of electricity in this country to the bare minimum. We've been close to large-scale blackouts a number of times and barely scraped through. 

The last one we had to rely on baseload supplied by France.

So, the government is committed to net zero, so you would think that they would not approve of huge, high energy requirement projects. 

Except the government is also committing to large scale A.I. projects. 

A.I. consumes a huge amount of energy, A.I. data centres consume Gigawatts of electricity. That's the amount a single coal-fired power station or nuclear power station produces. 

Forget the vagaries of renewable energy, these energy leviathans demand huge amounts of stable baseload energy so they can continue to doe A.I. stuff reliably.

The commitment to both net zero and A.I. data centres is mutually exclusive. You can't have both at the same time.

So what is the government doing about this situation?

Well, it appears nothing. 

This is essentially a train wreck you can see about to happen months in advance. 

We have an electricity distribution and generation network that can't support half a dozen rapid car chargers at a service station, let alone a Gigawatt-sucking energy hoover in the form of an A.I. data centre.

What could possibly go wrong?

On the subject of A.I. data centres, they are currently being built like large warehouses, just large steel-framed buildings out in the countryside. They may be very secure, surrounded by razor wire and CCTV cameras. 

But they are not on a level of security of the type of data centre I used to work in. I used to work in a data centre that was built into a hillside, so it was mostly underground. It had huge blast doors several feet thick able to survive a nuclear blast. 

 The data centres being built for A.I. will not survive any sort of conflict. And you can bet your bottom dollar that A.I. will be a strategic resource and will be targeted. It can analyse and predict the movement of forces before they have even moved, it can analyse and predict strategy and it can come up with counter strikes. It can identify weaknesses in defence and create strategy to exploit them.

The UK is being governed by idiots. They have no ability to think ahead. They are following dogma and ideology and they will eventually get us all killed. Either freezing to death in a winter power cut, or from the lack of strategy during a conflict.
