It seems both the Labour party and the Green party are scrabbling for the Muslim block vote. There are videos online with both trying their best to convince Muslim voters to vote for them.
Of course it depends on whoever makes the best, most generous offers to the Muslim community. Not necessarily bribery, but it's quite reasonable for the Muslim community to ask, "what's in it for us?"
Which they are able to ask and are entitled to ask. That's the power of a bloc vote.
Which is why I think it will be closer than most think. The Muslim bloc vote has been powerful in Tameside for a long time, close to 3 decades.
The result will be interesting. Will Labour and Tory voters both jump on the Reform bandwagon as a way of sticking two fingers up to the power of the bloc vote?
Now voters have a chance to upset the status quo, will they take it?
