The Unanswered (and Strangely Unasked) Question.

In the whole of the current election campaign, the is one question THE question that remains unanswered: and unasked it seems, by the greater bulk of the population.

What are you going to do for ME? Or to put it another way, How are you going to make MY life better?

Instead we got 3 people blathering on about society, and responsibility. Generic ideals which people really don't care about in their day-to-day lives. What wasn't said was that "Society" means increased state control and  "Increased responsibility" is political shorthand for "bigger state intervention thanks to increased taxes".

It was more of the same: pay more money, get more government intervention. Not one candidate expressed a contrary view. We got more health service, more Police, more rules, more regulations, more control. And to pay for all of this "more government" policy, the unspoken result will be more taxes.

So, just when will we get the chance to ask the unasked question? I doubt it will ever happen. We are being talked to as schoolchildren are talked to by the headmaster. Ther will be more rules, our lives will be regulated, the headmaster will pry into our lives as he sees fit. We will be expected to deliver more, do more, pay more, support the remedial kids who can't or won't get a job, suffer demands from the prefect Police.

We will never be allowed to grow up, to be adults, to take responsibility, to live our lives as we see fit without interference, to experience freedom from burdensome tax.

So, just how will MY life get better if any of the three parties represented last night get into power?

Pussy Footing Prime Ministerial Candidates

Well, just like the debate by the wannabe Chancellors, the Prime Ministerial debate was determined not by what had to be said, but by everyone not saying what had to be said.

Several troupes of Elephants were tramping round the room and every candidate ignored them, desperate not to get trampled.

Instead they skirted, ignored, obfuscated, and generally bored us all to death with things we'd heard about before, thing that didn't need to be aid again, with us all desperate to heard the things that did need to be said.

Instead we were majorly disappointed. No-one I've spoken to was impressed. Although it was a universal thought that Nick Clegg came out of it well and suprisingly Gordon Brown failed to wilt under close public scrutiny.

In summary, tonight was a defensive game, with not much action near the goal. Not one had a clear shot, instead they desperately clung on for a draw. Its half-time with everything to play for, its just that it seems none of the team captains have the courage and conviction to play a decisive game and lead their teams to victory. Instead they play an uninspiring waiting game, hoping the others will make a mistake that they can benefit from.

So far neither of them deserve to win.

Terror Warning.

Well, its now getting towards the endgame for the Labour government, unless something happens that it can use to postpone the election. Don't for a minute think that the marxists in government wouldn't come up with a scheme to cancel the election. They've trampled over democracy and a huge number of rights the common man had before they came to power. So what's to stop them stopping us from voting them out?

Only a month left of this cowardly government, so anything could happen.I hope I'm wrong, but you never know....

Do I really think they would have the gall to do it? Yes I do, because in their warped minds the electorate is something that can't be trusted to do the right thing and vote them back in. Just look at how dogmatic they've become in all things.

A prime example as to how the government works is to look at the Advisory Council of the Misuse of Drugs. Several experts on drug misuse were appointed to the council to give unbiased, sensible advice to the government on the misuse of drugs in society. However, when it comes to the crunch, the government ignores these very experts they employed to give the best advice possible and instead go their own way. Thats why several professional advisors on the council have resigned over the last 6 months.

This is a government that refuses to listen to the very advisors it appointed to give the best possible advice. Instead it clings to dogma, bias and panders to the media in order to further its aims.

Another example is the vote rigging by Labour members. Thats the sort of mentality that exists in the Labour party: they can do no wrong, are above the law and the public can't be trusted to do the right thing. They have to get voted back in at all costs, in order to save the public.

As I say, I hope I'm wrong, but I have that feeling......
