No Grooming Gang Public Enquiry: Why?

The  Labour government have turned down a request from Oldham Council to have a public enquiry into the phenomena of Islamic grooming gangs. 

Specifically the request was rejected by the Safeguarding Minister, Jess Phillips. Now, you'd think the title safeguarding minister would be the correct person to look into this issue, given this affects the safeguarding of literally thousands of working class girls across the country. 

I say literally thousands, in this report in the Independent, they say around 19000 in total. That's NINETEEN THOUSAND victims. If there were nineteen thousand victims of any other crime, there would be a national outcry.

But court cases have had "D" notices applied so the case could not be reported, until the case was finished. By doing this, the cases only get a couple of brief mentions in the media when they start and when the defendants are convicted. None of the gory details are released, details like the ones going viral on the internet that came out during the latest conviction.

Horrific accounts, that if they were in the media week upon week, would have the public clamouring for the government to do something. 

Instead, the government's response is to do nothing. No public enquiry, little to no public exposure by the media. It's all kept quiet. 

If social cohesion requires the burying of the fact that 19000 girls were raped by a certain ethnic minority, then fuck social cohesion. The men perpetrating these crimes (and they are serious crimes) should be made examples of, in order to dissuade others from doing the same, just like the crackdown after the Southport riots.. It should be hammered home to the Pakistani community that this is NOT acceptable behaviour. If you commit this sort of act, you will lose your ability to stay in the UK and you will immediately be deported back to where you came from. Those that are born in the UK should be locked up for life with no parole, given they think this activity is an acceptable part of their religious ideology and would be likely to offend again. 

There needs to be a credible deterrent, and part of that is to make the convictions a very public affair.

Also, there needs to be a public enquiry to investigate why the Pakistani community continues to perpetrate these atrocities. What is it that makes the men think this is acceptable? What is it about the wider Pakistani community that stops them reporting these men to the police? 

I've already commented on previous blogs on what I think normalises these rapes and what makes them acceptable to the wider Pakistani community. 

But a public enquiry would find the reasons, and make government agencies aware of the issue and the attitudes that should be discouraged.

This is yet another area where multiculturalism has failed. By accepting the part of multiculturalism that insists the Pakistani community shouldn't be made to integrate with Western Societal Norms, you then accept that this and other Pakistani societal norms should be tolerated in the name of diversity and inclusion.

No thanks. 

Let's have a public enquiry and get it out in the open. 

Then maybe the corruption perpetrated by Muslim officials in public office will be exposed as well. That's another scandal linked to the grooming gang scandal, where Muslim public officials were actively involved, or used their positions to cover up the actions of relatives or friends involved in the grooming gangs, rather than go to the Police. 

Another thing that may come out of a public enquiry would be the number of Islamic Extremists involved in public office. Extremists that excuse the actions of and actively protect other extremists, or affect government policy to protect extremist activity.
