Loony Huhne: Cartoon Character of a Minister

Chris Loony Huhne has really lost the plot this time.  He says that we should change energy suppliers when the one we are using puts up its prices.

Whilst it may be that on the planet Chris resides (which is quite different to the one I'm standing on) energy suppliers don't charge wildy different prices. When one puts up prices, they all do, because thats what happens in the UK: its an effective cartel where the supplier charges the most the market can bear, rather than competition bringing the cheapest price.

Its also to do with wholesale prices of energy too: if  speculators push up the price of the energy on the wholesale market, then thats what the energy companies have to buy it for. Thanks to government sell-offs in the past, they now have huge corporate shareholders to supply with fat dividends, which means they have to maintain a healthy profit. Who supplies those Chris? We do you moron.

And while we're on the subject of energy who was it that instigated supposed eco-friendly policies taxing energy suppliers and handing out huge subsidies that will make energy hugely more expensive? You did Chris, you thick fuck.

I really, really don't think the idiots in government have the first clue about life in the real world. Chris Looney Huhne is the primest of prime examples. So protected are they in their world of priviledge, gold-plated pensions and taxpayer-funded allowances that they just don't get it. At all.

Oh for the day that someone in government actually does what the people want and makes energy cheaper.
